Tom and Doug are in the air on their way from the Denver airport to Spokane. Then an hour and a half drive from Spokane to Moscow and they will be home. It has been a long, exhausting trip but I know Tom is glad they did it. They picked up some dishes and a BBQ on Friday in Limon which is terrific! One thing we knew we would have trouble finding was a gas grill - Ticos just don't grill the way we do. Of course most people don't grill the way we do - we cook our food on the grill almost every night. So - it really was a necessity :-)
They saw no birds or animals and I wish they would have. I have told Doug for years about how great the animal life is so I can expect a real razzing about the lack thereof during their trip when I next see him. They did hear the toucans in the trees in our yard but couldn't see them - ditto with howler monkeys at Cahuita national park. Oh well, just one more reason to come back.
